A series of 5 Easter lessons
The Wonder of Easter is a series of 5 lessons following Jesus on his journey in Luke’s Gospel. Through these five passages children will discover the story of Jesus' death and resurrection as the most amazing story ever told.
The lessons have been written to dovetail with the Wonder of Easter book of family Bible times, so that families can explore the Easter story at home while their church teaches these key stories:
The return of the King (Luke 19:30, 35-40)
Taken away by guards (Luke 22:47-54)
Saved! Just in time (Luke 23:32-34, 39-43)
Jesus is alive! (Luke 24:36-49)
He’s gone, we’re still happy (Luke 24:50-53)
Based on Luke 24: 36-45
Jesus showed his friends his scars and ate food to prove that it was really him. We can be certain that Jesus rose from the dead.
1 Peter 1:3
1 Peter 1:3
This Easter day short all age talk teaches that the resurrections means new life for us if we follow Jesus.
Good Friday Talk based on Luke
This talk points out that Jesus' death appears unfair, however he is choosing to die to take God’s anger at our sin and open the way to the Father.
The aim of this talk is for the story of Christ’s trial, crucifixion and death to prompt a response of awe and thankfulness in all of us.
An Easter talk
The angel reminded the women at the empty tomb that Jesus had said that he would be crucified and then 3 days later, rise again. He had kept his promise
This talk prompts the children to realise that if Jesus had kept this most important promise, then all of his others will certainly be kept.
